Designer Profile
Hello I am Eric Shelton an Interior Design student at The Art Institute of Indianapolis. I am currently a junior but will be starting my senior year in July 2011. I am a Disabled Veteran from the U.S. Army. I have always worked as a mechanic until my disabilities got too bad and I was forced quit in January 2009. I am a family man, married with three kids and a step-daughter.
I have always loved a wide range of design, everything from transpertation, recreation, commercial, and residential. If I could work and design it all I would. I began classes at Ai Indy in October 2008 and started in the certificate program in Residential Design to see if I'd like it and when I finished in September 2009 I realized that my learning here wasn’t complete. I enrolled into the Bachelor program in October 2009 and have loved this school ever since.
I am currently Vice President and Co-Founder of the ASID Student Chapter here at Ai Indy. I believe in working hard but having fun while doing it. I feel that no matter how easy or hard the work you do is that as long as you're having fun that you can produce your best work. I find inspiration in just about everything around me and I feel that being open to different ideas, styles, and concepts helps me grow and be more creative.
