Excellence in Design Awards

Qualifying Information
ELIGIBILITY
The 2011 Awards for Excellence in Design are sponsored by the Indiana Chapter of ASID and are open to members in good standing of ASID Indiana and Indiana IIDA. All interior designers from Indiana are invited to submit their work. Design projects shall be your own work, work of your firm, or you may nominate the work of another designer. However, each submittal must include an ASID or IIDA member as project manager. Entries must be work completed between October 1, 2009 to the present.
It is the intent of the Chapter to award for true excellence; therefore, an award will be given to work which merits such recognition. The jury is not obligated to declare an award for each category.
Rules & Procedures
ENTRY
All entries must be submitted online at the ASID Indiana website. Details on how to enter are below.

FEES
Cost of entry: $75 (each). The entry fee will not be refunded. You may pay online with your online submission or send a check separately. Make checks payable to Indiana Chapter ASID.
DUE DATE
Entries will be received until Friday, August 12, 2011 (online only) at 5:00 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted. No exceptions.
PUBLICITY RELEASE
Each applicant agrees to follow publicity guidelines as established by ASID and authorizes ASID Indiana to use photographs, submitted materials and design content in publicity releases.
JUDGING
All entries are submitted electronically to an out-of-state panel of judges who are professional members of ASID. All entry packets have names withheld.
Awards Presentation
Awards will be presented at the ASID Annual Dinner in late September, 2011. Location to be determined.
Entry Requirement
BINDERS?
We are NOT using binders this year and cannot accept entries this way. You will submit electronically on our website the same information we have had you submit in the past..
Each entry will contain the following information:
- Name of designer or designers, listing ASID or IIDA members first
- Name and address of project
- Name of owner
- Defined problem statement of 150 words or less
- Detailed outline of program goals, project limitations and the arrived solution
Documentation to include:
- Floor plans(s) of project, labeled appropriately and keyed to photography submitted
- Details of special design elements, i.e., cabinetry, architectural details, etc.
- Photography: Power point slides or a pdf file (3 minimum-10 maximum) of completed interior.
Entry cannot be part of any previous year’s entry in any category.
- Residential under 3000 s/f
- Residential 3000 s/f and above
- Non-Residential under 3000 s/f
- Non-Residential 3000 s/f and above
- Kitchen or Bathroom
- Universal Design/Sustainable Design/Historic Preservation
- Special Function Room (Media Rooms, Wine Cellars, etc.)
- Single Residential Room
- Show House Space

You will follow this link and enter your information into the fields. You may cut and paste information from your word document into this field. Make sure you ensure your punctuation, formatting, etc. comes through correctly. We will not format this for you if it is incorrect.
You will upload from your computer all of the graphics, floorplans, details, etc. associated with this project.
You will also pay online using the same form. You can also send us a check if you wish.
Your graphics and attachments combined must not exceed 25 megabytes. Please be patient on the uploads. It might take several minutes (possibly more) depending on the speed of of your internet connection. If you use dialup, this will take a very long time.
